Gamle Svarten (original title Ole Faithful ) is an American country song from 1935 about a horse ridden by the singer. The song was written by Michael Carr and Hamilton Kennedy; the original was performed by Gene Autry and it has been recorded in many cover versions in different languages. The first cover version in Swedish was recorded already in 1935 by Gösta Kjellertz with lyrics by Sven-Olof Sandberg . Others who have recorded it in Swedish include Cacka Israelsson (1954). Here it's performed (just practising!) by Heléne Carlsson and James Gale in Gånarp, southern Sweden.
