Quick Joey Small, recorded in 1973, but not released until June, 1974 (as a B-side), is, quite simply, dreadful in comparison to Darren's first two single releases in 1973 and is certainly a case of EMI wasting his unique singing talents as here, very unwisely, they gave him the Gary Glitter / Ricky Wilde glam rock sound which was so totally beneath him.
